Animal Health & Hygiene Manager

Reporting to the Head of Technical Development the primary functions of the Animal Health & Hygiene Manager role is the responsibility

for the provision of technical advisory and thought leadership in relation to animal health, animal welfare practices and dairy hygiene.

They will work with stakeholders across the Agribusiness category to proactively improve or reduce the cost of production at farm level through

the application of best-practice animal health/welfare practices and hygiene standards or products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to requests from Customer Relationship Managers to provide animal health & hygiene advice to farmers
  • Collaborate with Feed Technical Managers & Feed Purchasing to ensure new product development and feed formulations are fit for purpose regarding animal health
  • Provide input to the management of the Vet Medicine & Dairy Hygiene product portfolio (owned by Head of Ruminant)
  • including the recommendation of new products, product retirement or substitution
  • Develop animal health & hygiene content for publication and circulation to Glanbia farmers
  • Provide training on animal health & hygiene to Customer Relationship Managers and the Retail network
  • Attend national and international forums/events to ensure familiarity with current topics and issues in the health & hygiene industry
  • Develop informative content and material reflecting Glanbia’s perspective on best practice in
  • animal health/ welfare practices and dairy hygiene to increase the value we deliver to our farmers
  • Develop Design and deliver customised presentation material to internal and external stakeholders
  • on animal health, animal welfare and dairy hygiene
  • Key Requirements:
  • Experience of Veterinary medicine or extensive experience in animal health and hygiene in an agricultural context
  • Face-to-face customer service and support
  • Comfortable delivering technical presentations to varied audiences
  • Organisational agility with a focus on innovation
  • Ability to motivate others and build effective teams
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Keen drive for results along with the ability to plan effectively
