Barryroe Co-op in West Cork is a farmer owned multi-purpose agribusiness. Its business includes purchasing milk, grain and pigs. 350 people are employed with a turnover c. €160 million pa. This progressive coop has consistently paid one of the best milk prices in Ireland and has increased its milk supply by 40% since 2015.

The Coop also purchases over 13,000 t of grain pa and most of this is taken in at Ballinspittle. This is their largest branch and located only 30km from Cork airport. It has a hardware store, Eurospar supermarket and fuel station. The compound feed mill has recently been upgraded while pig meat processing at Staunton Foods is also part of the thriving Coop business.
Applicants should be energetic and enthusiastic with strong management, problem-solving and people skills all driven by a passion for professionalism, customer service and success.

The ideal candidate would preferably have:

• A good knowledge of farming with emphasis on tillage and crop husbandry.
• Agri degree equivalent and IASIS in animal remedies and crop/ plant protection.
• Experience in a management / supervisory role in an Agri Sales environment.
• The ability to build, lead and maintain an effective and motivated team.
• Excellent communication, IT and people management skills.
